NOTE: Item is sold as shown in the pictures. Please do your own research to confirm this identify of this rear derailleur. I am NOT guaranteeing the accuracy of my research. Actual weight: 220 grams (weighed on a digital scale) Based on my research, I believe this is the original 1972-1975 SLJ AR 615 version of the Simplex SLJ (or Super Lucien Juy) series rear derailleurs which was originally known as the Prestige Super L.J. The indications that this is the SLJ AR 615 version versus the later SLJ 5000 and SLJ 5001 versions are:
Cable stop is cast directly into the upper body of the rear derailleur itself along its left side. (The later second edition SLJ 5000 or first edition SLJ 5001 produced between 1977 to 1978 no longer had the cable stop actually cast into the upper body of the rear derailleur.)
No circular black plastic button under the outer upper parallelogram steel pivot (as on the later first edition SLJ 5000 version produced between 1975-1977)
In used condition as shown in the pictures. See photos, which are part of description.
Includes Simplex pulley wheels. Pulley wheels have wear consistent with use (see pictures)
Chain wear on inner and outer pulley wheel cage plates (see pictures)
The cable fixing bolt is not original. (see pictures) I have supplied two types of replacement bolts. Both bolts are stainless steel. The original bolt apparently was made of a soft aluminum and tended to rounded out easily.
Suitable for vintage bike builds for L'Eroica cycling events.
